Val was a member of the Wisconsin Bowling Association for many years. He became known as an outstanding bowler winning many tournaments throughout the area. He was also a softball player and manager in the community leagues. He was a member of the Rhinelander Country Club since 1994 golfing in various leagues and tournaments in the Rhinelander area. Val was an avid hunter bagging several trophies including deer, caribou, antelope, pheasant, partridge, ptarmigan, and ducks. He was also a successful fisherman.
Val is survived by his wife Lynda (Schauder), his son Michael (Abbey) Lukowski , his stepdaughter Amy (John) Wolf , his grandchildren Tim, John, Anthony, Alec and Ashlynn, his great grandson Bentley, his sister Joyce (Dale) Elliot, his brothers Ivan (Sue) Lukowski, Gary (Cheryl) Lukowski, and Wallace (Sue) Lukowski, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation and memorial service for Val is going to be scheduled for this coming May. The times will be published in the River News and at www.carlsonfh.com. The family would ask that all donations be made in Val's name to the Wisconsin Parkinson's Association at www.wiparkinson.org.
