Audrey Mae (Fickau) Loka went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2022. She passed away at Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital with her family by her side.

Audrey was born on Easter Sunday, April 16, 1933, the second child of Martin and Pearl Fickau. She attended schools in Mukwonago, graduating in 1951. Her first job was at Milwaukee Mutual Company as a clerk. She moved to Rhinelander in 1953. Audrey married Bill Guolee of that year. They had three children, Cindy, Dawn and David. They would later divorce.

Mom went to work at the Bump Clinic and worked there for 17 1/2 years. She married Robert Loka in 1984. He preceded her in death in March of 1995.

Mom was a long-standing member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bundy. She was active in the church serving as Ladies Aid Treasurer, Altar Guild, and several years as a member of AAL holding various office positions. She also made the banners for the church.

Mom bowled at Hodag Lanes as a member of the "Golden Girls". Mom was very talented as a crafter, baker, sewer, and gardener. She crocheted blankets for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She made Easter dresses and Barbie doll clothes for her daughters. She made baptismal gowns. If anyone ever needed anything mended, Mom was there to help.

Affectionately known as "Granny" to everyone, she was always called upon to make potato salad for any family get together. Mom was always reading a book, and there was always a picture puzzle in the works. She enjoyed playing cards and "upwords". She loved being with her family.

Mom was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Loka, an infant brother, Donald, sister, Delores (Herschall) Cooper, brother, Roger Fickau and son-in-law, Myron Wanty.

She is survived by her children, Cindy Phillips, Dawn Wanty and Dave (Loretta) Guolee, her grandchildren, Tara (Tom) Fredrick, Nikki (Mike Jones) Guolee, Robbie Guolee, Megan (Tom Gilbert) Wanty, Michelle (Jake) Jensen, her great-grandchildren, Tori (Shilo) Dunlap, Tyler Fredrick, Tia (Nate Madl) Fredrick, Tierje Fredrick, Robert Guolee, Evelyn Guolee, Austin Danielczak, Lucas Danielczak, Safford Jensen and a great-great-grandson, Esjay Dunlap.

She is also survived by sisters, Phyllis Patek and Jean Ann (Don) Nelson, sister-in-law, Mary Jean Buschman and many nieces, and nephews.

Audrey's family would like to thank the neighbors, Joyce and Terri Bishop, for the kindness shown to their mother.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the family.

The visitation for Audrey will take place on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the Hildebrand Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service with Chaplain John Uhlarik officiating.

Immediately following the memorial service there will be a procession to Forest Home Cemetery for the committal service.
