Rhinelander swimmers compete at Badger State Games
Samson Shinners had seven gold medals and three silver medals in a 10-event program. He won his age group in the 200-yard freestyle, the 100 butterfly, the 100 freestyle, the 50 butterfly and the 50 freestyle and was on winning squads in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. Shinners finished second in the 100 individual medley, the 50 breaststroke and the 200 breaststroke.
Brock Arrowood had six gold, one silver and two bronze medals. He won the 200 freestyle, the 100 butterfly and the 50 butterfly, individually and was on winning 200 medley, 400 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams. He earned a silver in the 400 freestyle relay and bronze in the 200 backstroke and the 50 freestyle.
Judson O'Malley won gold in the 100 backstroke, silver in the 500 freestyle and 100 freestyle, and bronze in the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. Shawn Denis took gold in the 100 breaststroke and silver in the 200 freestyle, 50 backstroke and 50 breaststroke. Dolan O'Malley won gold in the 400 individual medley, silver in the 200 backstroke and bronze in both the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke.
Ellyse Younker took first in the 200 individual medley, was second in the 50 backstroke and third both the 50 and 100 butterfly. Lily Thorsen was a silver medallist in the 200 butterfly and took bronze in the 100 backstroke.
Denis and the O'Malley brothers swam under the Rhinelander Swim Club banner for the meet. Arrowood and Shinners both swam for the Woodson Y Northern Swimmers team, Thorsen represented the Northland Lakes Aquatic Club and Younker swam unattached.
