'Motors and Makers' to take center stage on the second Saturday in June
The action will start at 9 a.m. and all three events are free and open to the public.
The 35th annual Art Fair on the Courthouse Lawn will include arts and crafts booths and activities as well as plenty of food. Entertainment will be provided by the Rhinelander Community Band.
Jewelry, pottery, metal work, photography, woodworking and many other types of handmade crafts will be available to admire and purchase.
Nearby, on Brown and Davenport streets, the Bikes and Burgers event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring American, Metric, Vintage (1970 or older), and special interest bikes (Dirt, UTV, Minibike, Bicycle, Pocket Bike, Spider). Awards will be given for People's Choice and Best Paint.
To satiate the hungry, downtown restaurants will be serving special burgers throughout the day.
For those who prefer the roar of an automobile, the Rhinelander Car Show will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The entrance will be on Baird Avenue behind the courthouse.
This event features an array of antique, classic, and custom cars shown by enthusiasts from across Wisconsin.
All three events - branded together as a day of Motors & Makers - are sponsored by the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Rhinelander Inc.
And that's not all. Art lovers can round out the day by visiting ArtStart which is planning an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Curators of the current exhibition, "Living Blues Japan to the Midwest," will be on-site doing live indigo dyeing, according to an ArtStart press release.
The public can participate in the dyeing process and the dyed pieces will be used to create a public art piece, organizers said.
Live music, provided by Reverend Meantooth and Keith Daniel, will be on the outdoor stage, the Skate Park Pop-up will be set up, the galleries will be open, Rhinelander Brewery will be on-site with their brews, and there will be a kids art activity, the release states.
ArtStart is a nonprofit 501 (c)3 organization located in the historic Federal Building in downtown Rhinelander with a mission to strengthen the community through arts education and cultural engagement.
