"That shows you how young of a team we really are," Hodag coach D.J. DeMeyer said.
Rhinelander battled a myriad of injuries as it finished 4-17 overall on the season.
"We had injuries. We had to shuffle people around. Through all of that adversity, the girls never quit," DeMeyer said. "That means a lot, as a coach, and it should mean a lot as parents, because you're teaching your kids not to quit. I'm very proud of that fact."
Pictured, from left to right, are varsity award winners Abigale Johnson (best cheerleader), Kayla Tessman (golden glove), Lily Treder (silver slugger, Ms. Hustle, most valuable outfielder), Sam Sundby (most improved), Natalee Sundby (most versatile), Annika Johnson (best mentor) and Addi DeMeyer (most valuable infielder/best mentor).
Awards were voted on by the players. Maddi Roeser, who won awards as best teammate and best cheerleader, was unavailable for the photograph.
