Julie Ann Durkee Plomb of Rhinelander passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022.

Julie was born in Rhinelander on June 29, 1965, the daughter of Edwin and Lois Durkee.

She was a 1983 graduate of Rhinelander High School. After graduation, Julie moved to Florida and lived in Clearwater Beach and surrounding gulf side areas for 12 years. She worked at Paradise Restaurant most of her time there and gained a whole family of friends. Although she loved living there and always felt it to be her second home, in 1995 Julie moved back to Rhinelander to be near her immediate family again.

Julie was employed by the Alzheimer's Association for 19 years wearing many different hats from office administration to fundraising. During that time, she volunteered and was a member of the Rhinelander Women's Club. One of her heart-felt passions was taking care of the elderly. Julie did private in-home caregiving and worked as Assistant Director for Milestone Senior Living for a couple years. Then needing a change in careers, she went to NCT in Antigo and got her P & C Insurance license and was employed by Favell Insurance Services as an insurance agent.

Julie was raised in a family surrounded by musical talent. Her passion was playing drums. At age nine, her brother Gary taught her to play drums and since then she always had a drum set and played regularly. She enjoyed spending time with friends or family going to the beach and watching sunsets, attending concerts/live rock bands, dancing, shooting pool, bowling, fishing, playing poker and cribbage. Julie also loved to be home watching movies and football and doing needlework.

Julie married her loving husband, Peter M. Plomb, on June 11, 2016. She was blessed to become part of the whole wonderful Plomb family. Julie had a strong Christian faith and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Julie is preceded in death by her mother, Lois J. Durkee, her father, Edwin G. Durkee, her brother, Gary D. Durkee, her grandparents, Mel & Betty Johnsen, and Ted & Bertha Peschek.

Julie is survived by her husband, Pete; brothers: Edwin (Diane) Durkee of Shawano, Mark (Laura) Durkee of Rhinelander; mother-in-law, Catherine Plomb of East Troy, and stepmother, Judith Durkee-Peter of Rhinelander. Also surviving are aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.

The visitation for Julie will take place on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church located at 235 N. Stevens Street from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service with Rev. Tim Vadis officiating. Immediately following the service, there will be a procession to Northland Memorial Park.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hildebrand Funeral Home & Cremation Specialists, 24 E. Davenport Street, Rhinelander, Wisconsin 54501, 715-365-4343. Everyone is invited to sign the guestbook or leave an online condolence at www.hildebrandrussfh.com.
