Dennis C. Reissmann, 74, of Rhinelander, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital.

Dennis was born in Rhinelander on Oct. 1, 1947, to Herman M. and Linda E. (Bacon) Reissmann.

He was raised in Rhinelander and was a 1965 graduate of Rhinelander High School. Dennis then enlisted in the U.S. Army proudly serving his country in the Vietnam War. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. He came back to Rhinelander and attended Nicolet College, receiving his Associate Degree in Small Engines.

Dennis was united in marriage to Judith Plyer in Bessemer, Mich. on August 13, 1970. The couple lived in Rhinelander. Dennis was employed at Coca-Cola and then later with Rhinelander Foods, working there for over 20 years. Meanwhile, he served in the Wisconsin National Guard for 20-plus years.

Dennis was a very active member at St. Augustine Episcopal Church, assisting with the vestry, The Table, delivering meals, altar party, and the church choir.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, ATV and UTV riding, gardening, animals especially dogs, and listening to just about any kind of music. But most of all, he enjoyed getting together with his family.

He will be dearly missed by his son, Stephen D. Reissmann and his significant other, Rod Enkers of Thorp; siblings: Dave (Carol) Reissmann of Wausau, Tom (Lonah) Reissmann of Beaver Dam, Kathy (Gary) Grill of Escanaba, Mich., and Lori (Greg) Reese of Rhinelander. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Judith Reissmann, daughter Ann, and a brother, Earl Reissmann.

The visitation for Dennis will take place on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at St. Augustine Episcopal Church, located at 39 S. Pelham Street, Rhinelander from 12:00 p.m. until the 2 p.m. memorial service. Mother Meredyth Albright will officiate. Military Honors will be conducted by the Ray Rousseau V.F.W. Post 3132 Rhinelander and two representatives from the U.S. Army.

Inurnment at a later time will take place at the Lakeside Cemetery, Crandon.
