A native of Chicago, Peg was raised on the northwest side of the city where she met her future husband, Bill, and where their five daughters were born. They became active in their church, The Northside Gospel Center, the Awana Youth ministry, and Christian camping. In 1964, they moved to Rhinelander to work full-time in Christian camping with Fort Wilderness. Peg was the head cook at the Fort for many years. Following that, she handled the hospitality desk for several years where she was known as "Aunt Peg" to all the campers. After retirement, Bill and Peg became active members of Lake Tomahawk Bible Church and continued to work with youth in Awana. Peg also enjoyed her work at Leathercrafters Magazine where she was a faithful part-time helper.
Peg was known for her cooking skills and loved to entertain and spend time with people. She always had a friendly smile and a word of encouragement for anyone.
Visitation for Peg will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 10 to 11 a.m., with funeral services following at 11 a.m., all at Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Newbold Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp Awana, Fredonia, or Fort Wilderness, McNaughton.
