Rhinelander trailed 8-1 after two innings on Wednesday against Antigo but rallied with four runs in the fifth inning, including RBI singles by Collin Jorata and Mason Hauser and an RBI fielder's choice by Jaxon Eades.
Hauser finished with three hits in the contest while Eli Bauer scored a pair of runs. Connor Clark started and pitched two innings for the Hodags before Jeter Vander Gailen came in and pitched four scoreless frames.
Rhinelander held a 2-0 lead against group champion Merrill through three innings Wednesday, but allowed four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings, before mounting another three-run rally in the bottom of the fifth.
Bauer reached on an error and scored on a Collin Jorata groundout in the first inning. Mason Stein reached and scored on an Eades single in the second. Jorata added another RBI hit in the fifth inning. The Hodags used four different pitchers in the contest - Carter Bell, Bauer, Colton Jahn and Hauser.
Rhinelander finished 0-3 in pool play. Merrill finished 3-0 to win the pool. Wausau American defeated Antigo Thursday to finish 2-1 and became the second to advance to the second week of tournament play, which began Monday in Wausau.
