The Rhinelander Ice Association's bantam hockey team took second place in the C Division over the weekend as it hosted at 12-team tournament at the Rhinelander Ice Arena.
The Hodags defeated Appleton and Sauk Prairie in pool play before losing to Eagan, Minn. in the championship game.
Snekkevik Ski race
The Rhinelander middle school Nordic ski team took part in the Snekkevik Ski race in Wausau Saturday, Jan. 8.
Olin Slette led the Hodag boys, taking second overall in the 3.8-kilometer classic race in a time of 10 minutes, 31.3 seconds. Austen Slette (26th, 13:02.4) and Douglas Hartmann (55th, 16:27.3) rounded out Rhinelander's top three.
Violet Biolo led the Hodag girls in 19th overall at 13:18.9. Lucy Eddy (24th, 13:37.1) and Mya Gillen (32nd, 15:00.7) were the rest of Rhinelander's top three.
