The Rhinelander and Antigo basketball programs rallied together during Friday night's doubleheader at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium to help support a local family in need.

A benefit was held by the Rhinelander Basketball Association which stated during the doubleheader, "We have a friend and mother with multiple children in our basketball family, who is battling a very aggressive form of breast cancer. We are asking you all to join us in supporting her and her family through your monetary donations. Your support will help alleviate the financial burdens associated with her fight with this disease."

The RBA declined to state the names of the people in need out of respect of the privacy of the family.

A two-minute collection drive was held at intermission between Friday's girls' and boys' basketball games and both Antigo and Rhinelander wore matching black and pink and socks in solidarity. The RBA has also set up a GoFundMe page for the family which, as of press time, had raised more than $3,200 toward a $5,000 goal.

Pictured, the teams gather for a group photo between Friday's contests.
