Jim was born on Sept. 30, 1955. He married Sherry (Sailer) Otto on Aug. 21, 1976. Jim and Sherry are blessed with a wonderful family including their son, Jim (Kelly) Otto; daughter, Jacquie (Eric) Bohne; granddaughters, Alena and Adalyn Bohne (aka his nurses/therapists).
We made a great team and fought the tough fight, but Gramps got tired. Jim is also survived by his brother, Jeff (Cathy) Otto; his sisters-in-law, Teresa Otto, Karen Otto, and Donna Otto; and other relatives and really good friends.
Jim was a truck driver and loyal Teamster. He made lifelong friends at Roundy's, Holland, Merrill Sand & Gravel, and a few other trucking companies along the way. He was the proud chair of the National United Committee to Protect Pensions, Minocqua/Wausau Committee. This nationwide committee was successful in preserving the hard-earned pensions of Teamsters. In his earlier days, Jim was an avid snowmobiler and president of the Harshaw Wanderer's Snowmobile Club. His summer love was the Hodag Country Festival. Jim was the campground organizer, and this event has turned into a family tradition. Happy Hodag!
Graveside services for James Otto will be held on Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at the Union Grove Cemetery in Harshaw. A celebration of life gathering will follow at Rondele Ranch located at 8959 County Highway K in Harshaw and will conclude at 3 p.m. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family. You may view Jim's obituary and leave online condolences at generationsfuneral.com.
