Jules was a born, "forever" dancer. Her skills were outstanding, naturally allowing her to perform with any group at anytime. This led her to become principle dancer, choreographer and lead dancer with Abiogenesis Movement Ensemble, a Chicago-based, internationally performing dance/theatre company.
After sharing her love of dance with the Northwoods, Jules found very quickly that her unique and varied skills were desired and appreciated by many! As an independent contractor, she was the creator and presenter of specialized workshops, trainings and programs, teaching unique styles of applied psychology, choreography and dance therapy with the University of Wisconsin Madison, Stevens Point and UW Outreach. In addition, she was director and choreographer for many community drama presentations, musical groups and regional professional theatre productions. Not only was she extremely talented in so many ways, Jules was tremendously fun to work with! She even performed in a cover band called DejaVu! Jules' expertise shined through every one of those performances as well, as she would often hand out rhythm instruments to listeners and, once again, get them out on the dance floor. It was at this time that she met and married the love of her life and best friend, David Dall.
The blend of Jules' love for dance and that of the Great Northwoods were always so evident. She had such an affinity for nature and was always the first to point out the most subtle of changes in the environment or report the latest "critter count" as she called it. She sincerely loved it all, even when a flying squirrel came to dinner one day or when the cat carried in and released a snake in the house! As some of us scurried to get the critters out, Jules was always quick to say, "Well, don't hurt him!" She so enjoyed sharing her stories with her children and grandchildren regarding her latest discoveries.
As the needs of her many dance families accelerated, Jules founded and became the sole proprietor and instructor of Celebration Studios! She was so proud of the many community performances her students did. In addition, parents were happy to be involved as well, making the performances true family events. That was always such a special thing to see! You may recall Celebration Studios! dance presentations at MDA telethons, parades and other community events. Always crowd-pleasers.
As one career slowed, another took flight. Jules returned to school and earned her MA and licensure in child and family counseling. This was no small task as she was co-parenting four children with her husband at the time. Another "truth" is that she served clients right up to the time that it was impossible for her to do so, another testament to the dedication she always had to anything she pursued.
One of Jules' favorite performers is Billy Joel. As she made her way from this dance floor to the next, she did so to his words, "And so it goes..." and as we wept, Jules leaped to a new kingdom, a renewed plane of existence, free from earthly sadness and pain, taking on her new role as Choreographer for the Angels. Oh, how we'll miss her, but oh how she shines!
(An event to celebrate Jules will be held later this summer. Watch for it! She'd love to dance with you!)
Jules is survived by her husband David, her daughters Abbey Dall-Lukowski and Ashley (Troy) Hill, her sons Andrew (Nia) Dall and Aaron (AnnaGail) Dall, her grandchildren Anthony, Alec, Ashlynn, Vienna, Abigail, Zailynn, Korutui and Alma Rio, her mother Carol, her sisters Kate O'Neal and her niece Soleil (Alex) O'Neal. She was preceded in death by her father Charles.
