Students could choose various types of events to compete in, such as taking a test on related business topics including accounting or personal finance or students could perform a presentation or speech for events such as desktop publishing or public speaking. Some competitors competed on the day of but some took tests prior to the Regional Leadership Conference for a total of 16 competitors.
The top three competitors in each event will proceed to state; six members will go from Rhinelander. Four came home with a first-place medal: Jayson Fairfield (Accounting 1), Greyson Gremban (Computer Applications), and the team of Jack DeNamur and Gavin Ostermann (Marketing).
Two members of Rhinelander FBLA took second place in their events, Maria Heck (Accounting 1) and Hunter St. Louis (Personal Finance). They also will be competing at state. Placing fourth were Dana Eliason (Job Interview) and Madeline Hetland (Public Speaking).
Also competing for Rhinelander were Aiden Ostermann, Alyssa Smits, AJ Gillespie, Kylie Gechas, Taylor Riopel, Bryan Glover and Caleb Shefveland. Rhinelander FBLA was recognized with two chapter awards: first place for the outstanding community service and tenth overall in chapter scores.
