The Friendship House Family Restaurant in Rhinelander hosted its annual fundraiser benefiting local veterans programs on Thursday, Feb. 3. Half of the day's proceeds benefited two organizations, AMVets and the Rhinelander Military Support Group, who each received a check for $1,129.41 following the fundraiser.

In addition, a bucket was set out so that patrons could make their own donations. Each organization received $300 from that fundraiser, according to Friendship House owner Tony Sabani.

Sabani has hosted the annual fundraiser for several years. He said the purpose of the fundraiser is to thank local veterans while showing them support for their years of service.

"A lot of people came in to support," Sabani said, noting that he is very happy that the community continues to support this project year after year.

AMVets and the Rhinelander Military Support Group use the funds to support veterans at home and abroad.
