Joellen, known as Jodi, was born on June 17, 1967, to Fayne (Stevens-Wilcox) Diegel and Roger Wilcox. She was born in Hawaii, but as the daughter of a career Navy family, she called many places "home," including California, Virginia, New Hampshire, Washington D.C., and Wisconsin. Jodi attended middle school in New Lisbon. The family moved to Wausau in 1980, and Jodi graduated from Newman High School in 1985. She studied at Northcentral Technical College and held a variety of jobs where she was a dependable, hard worker. Most recently, Jodi worked as a supervisor at Kohl's in Rhinelander and truly valued the friendship and support of her coworkers.
Jodi was a caring mother and provider to her three children, Joshua, Josie and Jared, and stepson Jordan. She also was a loving grandmother who thoroughly enjoyed playing with the grandkids and watching her granddaughter Anna ice skate.
Jodi was a treasured by her parents, family and friends and always ready to give love and support to those who needed it. Some of her favorite pastimes were reading, watching the TV show "Friends," rooting on the Packers and visiting family. Her cat Buttons was a faithful companion. The Stevens family reunion was the highlight of the summer, where she would reconnect with cousins, aunts and uncles.
Jodi was a constant source of joy and support to her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed. The memories we have and hold on to will serve as a reminder of how blessed we were to have had her in our lives.
Jodi is survived by her mother Fayne Diegel, stepfather Larry Diegel, stepmother Gale Wilcox; children Joshua Wilcox, Josie Graefe (Max Zimmerman), Jared Graefe, and Jordan (Sharayah) Calmes and grandchildren Daniel, Anna, Ella and Riley Zimmerman; brother Robert (Jane) Wilcox, nieces Sara (Matthew) Thomson, Rebecca (Marvin) Jones, and many grand-nieces and nephews; many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, stepbrothers and treasured friends.
Jodi is preceded in death by her father Roger Wilcox, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held for Joellen on Monday, Feb. 7, 2022 at noon with pastor Lori Slaughter officiating at the Carlson Funeral Home.
