ABC, Shoeder's team up for raffle to support Hodag sports
The ABC has partnered with Shoeder's RV & Marine of Rhinelander to have one lucky ticket holder win their choice of three grand-prize options donated by Shoeder's, all with a value of more than $20,000. Tickets are $20 each and are being sold by participating Rhinelander High School and area youth sports teams, which will keep the proceeds from the tickets they sell.
"When Shoeder's approached the ABC about doing this raffle, we couldn't believe it," ABC president Brandon Karaba said. "This generosity can be a game changer on so many levels for so many teams."
"This amazing prize Shoeder's donated to the raffle will help generate funds for all teams selling tickets; which allows those teams to purchase equipment or uniforms needed for our athletes to train and complete at their at the highest level," added ABC board member Jeremy McCone. "One-hundred percent of the proceeds generated from the ticket sales goes directly to those teams that sold them."
According to Ali Shoeder of Shoeder's RV & Marine, as a family-owned business with strong roots in the Rhinelander community, supporting the ABC in this endeavor was an easy decision.
"We believe that having a strong school system, and strong athletic programs in that school system, are so important to the community of Rhinelander, and our surrounding areas," Shoeder said. "Our hope is that collaborations like this will help ensure that every kid can participate in athletics if desired, regardless of their financial situation, and that it will give our programs the chance to continue to strengthen themselves with new training equipment, uniforms, and whatever else they may need. We believe strongly in ABC and what they provide for our community, and are happy to be able to support them however we can."
The winning ticket will be drawn during the RHS boys' and girls' basketball doubleheader against Antigo at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium Feb. 17. The winner will take home their choice of either a 2023 Jayco Jay Flight camper, a 2023 Viaggio Del Mar pontoon boat with a 25-horsepower Mercury motor or a 2023 Arctic Cat Prowler Pro Crew Limited UTV, courtesy of Shoeder's.
"This type of donation from Shoeder's is over-the-top amazing. And it's just another reason why this community is so great," Karaba added. "We can't thank them enough for always supporting the Athletic Booster Club and therefore making Rhinelander athletics the best they can be."
The ABC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which supports Rhinelander High School and Rhinelander area youth sports teams through monetary grants. The ABC was founded in 1980 to help fund a weight room for RHS. Rhinelander ABC supports close to 20 programs assuring our Hodag Athletes are supporting with their needs. The ABC raises monies through memberships, an annual golf outing, an annual banquet, sponsorships and donations. Since 2002, the ABC has donated more than $350,000 back to area sports programs.
