SDR Special Olympians compete
The team received new team shirts, shoes, balls and bowling bags through donations from McNaughton Pub and Nick's Hodag Lanes.

According to SDR Facebook posts, the team had four students qualify for the state tournament held Dec. 3 at Dale's Weston Lanes. All four bowlers who competed for the Hodags placed in their divisions. Maggie Lehman took second, Marshall Barlowski was third, Hudson LaCrosse finished fourth and Whitley Divine placed seventh.
According to SDR, the program has grown to more than 20 athletes with six coaches in the first year under head coach Nina Hazelton and will look to add more seasonal sports - such as swimming, cornhole and bocce ball in the future.
