She was raised in the Wausau/Merrill area where she attended schools. She and her family moved out west to Utah in the year of 1983. It was in Utah that she met the love of her life, Evan Kagie. They were married in Ogden on Nov. 7, 1985 and Sealed in the Temple in Salt Lake City, March 4, 1989. She lived in Utah with her husband Evan Kagie where they started their own little family and raised her kids. She moved around then finally in 2001 she and her family moved to Wisconsin where her side of the family lives. They bought their forever home in Rhinelander in 2006.
Terry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed going out fishing with her family, being outdoors and enjoying nature. She always loved taking pictures of family, nature and everything. Gardening was one of her most favorite activities, she really loved her flowers and most of all her favorite flower was carnations. Her most beloved hobby was doing genealogy and reaching out to help others with theirs. But most of all what she loved and enjoyed most was being a grandma to her grandkids and others.
Terry is survived by her husband Evan Kagie, her daughter Mindy (A.J.) Smaglick, son Evan (Jessica Goetz) Kagie, stepson Nicholas (Cassandra) Kagie, her grandchildren Brayden, Kora, Callie, Allen, Skylar and Savanna, her mother Virginia (Ginny) Barnes, and sister Trudy Hill.
She was preceded in death by her father Merwin Barnes and her brother Michael Barnes.
A memorial service for Terry will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 780 Iverson St. in Rhinelander.
