Dick was employed by the Rhinelander Telephone Co as a technician for 34 years and upon his retirement enjoyed more time for his hobbies - gardening, fishing, cooking, watching boxing and cheering on the Packers.
Dick was a loving grandpa and it was clear that his grandchildren Timothy, Cassie, Luna and Juan Diego brought him so much joy. He was the kind of grandpa every child should have.
He will be dearly missed by his loved ones for his kindness, sense of humor, generosity and humility. (And his cooking)
Dick is survived by his daughters Duann Welch and Michelle (Michael) Smith-Grage, his grandchildren Timothy Welch, Cassie Fitzgerald, Luciana and Juan Diego Grage and his nephews Randy and Craig Schallock. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Elsie, his parents, and his sisters Fran and Dolores.
Visitation for Dick will be held on Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Forest Home Cemetery.
