The event is a test of endurance to see who can hang on the longest while being towed by a ski boat that drives in a figure eight pattern in order to create wakes the competitors have to negotiate.
This year's final result was a bit of a twist, as Ella, an incoming eighth-grader, defeated Sophie, an incoming sophomore, in the finals. Sophie was the three-time defending champion in the event and defeated Ella for the title in the finals in 2021.
