Kathy was born in Rhinelander on March 20, 1967, the daughter of Charles A. and Dorothy A. "Sue" (Huempfner) Worden. She was raised in Rhinelander and was a 1985 graduate of Rhinelander High School. Kathy had been employed at Club 47, Laser Pro, and at Citgo.
Kathy's greatest joy was being a mother, and later in life a grandmother. Much of her life was devoted to caring for her son and his battles with Muscular Dystrophy. Kathy enjoyed many activities, out socializing, laughing, and visiting before MD began to restrict her as well. She loved reading, playing cards and dice, and camping and fishin'. She was known for her ever-growing collection of all cute things frog- and toad-related. She met the love of her life, Randy Ready, in 2001, and with him she was happy. Together, they were always up for a sunset or a long car ride with no real destination. They recently celebrated their 21-year anniversary together.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Heather Kurilla of Rhinelander, three granddaughters, Ava, Liliana, and Holly Kurilla; siblings, Susan (Arthur) Beyer, Carrie (Kerry) Brenton, John Worden, Cindy (Gary) Vozka, sister-in-law Nancy Worden, all of Rhinelander; fiancé Randy Ready of Rhinelander and his children, Caleb (Jennifer) Ready and family of Beloit, and Zachary Ready and family of Minnesota. Also surviving are other relatives and friends.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Justin and Michael Felten, and a brother, Charles "Chuck" Worden.
The visitation for Kathy will take place on Saturday, Aug 13, 2022, at the Hildebrand Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service.
Immediately following the service there will be a procession to Northland Memorial Park for the committal service.
