Jerry was born in Milwaukee on Sept. 28, 1940 and the family later moved to Rhinelander in 1951. After graduating from high school he began four years of enlisted Coast Guard service, stationed at Grand Haven, Mich.
He later moved to Grand Rapids, where he spent most of his life with his beloved wife, Carole (Kotarski).
His career forcused on marketing commercial and personal insurance with an independent agency.
While embracing Michigan as home, Jerry never let go of his love for Wisconsin, including his favorite teams like the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. Jerry also was grateful for his close friends and relatives, his Coast Guard connections, domestic and international travel, and playing cards and golf.
Jerry had a unique way of making those around him feel special and, quite often, laugh heartily. He brought joy to many and derived his greatest joy from his family: wife, Carole; sons, Michael (Christine) and Brad (Candice); twin brother, Ron (Mary Ann); and grandkids, Jack, Justin, Keira, and Sienna.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie (Groh) Biwer.
It was Jerry's wish to not have traditional funeral services. Memorial contributions may be made for those that wish to in honor of Jerry at either the American Heart Association, www.heart.org, or St. Jude Children's Hospital, www.stjude.org.
