Curtis had been employed as a sheet metal fabricator and later was employed as a loader operator with Pitlik and Wick in Sugar Camp from 1987 until 2003.
Curtis enjoyed old tractors and cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen, and Joyce Johnstone; his brother, James Johnstone and one son, Scott Johnstone.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Cooper, Umlauf) Johnstone; sister, Ruby Theil; sons, Brian (Kathy) Johnstone, Dan (Denise) Johnstone; daughter, Jody (Jacob) Partin; stepsons, Rodd Umlauf and Roy (Beth) Umlauf; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Curtis's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Lake Tomahawk Bible Church and the staff at Lakeshore Assisted Living, Lake Tomahawk.
The visitation for Curtis will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the Lake Tomahawk Bible Church, located at 7250 North Avenue, Lake Tomahawk from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. memorial service.
Inurnment will take place at a later date at Wilderness Rest Cemetery.
