Two Rhinelander sisters, Sophia and Ella Miljevich, stayed on their feet the longest and took down the rest of the competition to finish first and second in the women's division of the Footstock National Figure Eight Barefoot Championships held in late August in Crandon.

The event is a test of endurance to see who can hang on the longest while being towed by a ski boat that drives in a figure eight pattern in order to create wakes the competitors have to negotiate.

Sophia, the elder of the two siblings, outlasted Ella by roughly 0.5 seconds in the winner-take-all championship round of the double-elimination tournament to claim third consecutive Footstock national title.
