Ginger was born in Rhinelander on Jan. 21, 1952 to Delmar and Evelyn (Hupf) Lunde. She was raised in Rhinelander and was a 1970 graduate of Rhinelander High School. She met her future husband Wayne Fairfield in 1984 with the couple getting married on the front lawn of Wayne's home on May 28, 1994. Ginger was employed as a waitress at Dee's Diner and later worked for Peterson Health Care. She later owned and operated Dirt Buster Cleaning Service.
Ginger later devoted much of her time in taking care of her son, Jimmer, after he had suffered a brain injury due to an automobile accident.
She was a member of North Country Vineyard Church and the Brain Injury Association of Wisconsin.
Ginger enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, crafts to numerous to mention and staying at the cabin on Pier Lake. But most of all, Ginger loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially weekly family nights.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Wayne, children Neva Barber (Jeff) of Rhinelander, Jodi Fairfield of Rhinelander, Gerry Fredrick of Rhinelander, Jamie Fairfield (Sarah) of Rhinelander; 10 grandchildren: Dakota (Ashley), Cody (Breanna), Hailey, Daniel, Evan, Mahjia, Olivia, Jayson, Matthew and Carley; three great-grandchildren: three brothers Delmar (Charlotte) Lunde of Rhinelander, Randy (Kathy) Lunde of Mesa, Ariz., Ricky Lunde (Michelle) of Kentucky and brother-in-law Rick Bauknecht of Rhinelander. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Jimmer Lunde and Barry Fredrick, one brother, Darl Lunde and three sisters, Cookie (Wayne) Swenson, Eileen (Tom) McFee and Cindy Bauknecht.
The Celebration of Ginger's Life will take place on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021 at the Pine Lake Town Hall, located at 4197 River Road, Rhinelander, beginning at 2 p.m.
