The Rhinelander Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in an apartment located at the intersection of Mason and Fremont streets just after 5:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7. When firefighters arrived, it was discovered the smoke was due to food left cooking unattended on the stove. The affected area of the building was vented with fans.
