Pat was born in Ithaca, New York on December 1, 1942 to Floyd and Bertha (Cartner) Swansbrough. She was raised in Ithaca, New York and in 1960 graduated from Ithaca High School. After graduating from high school, Pat remained at home to help her mom. She enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1969 during the Vietnam War where she was a clerk for a Lieutenant Colonel. She met her future husband, Charles Dutton, while stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington. The couple were married on March 25, 1972 in New York. The couple lived in Anchorage, Alaska for two years while Charles served in the U.S. Army. They also lived in San Diego, California for 12 years, Denver, Colorado for five years and in 1993 the whole family moved to Rhinelander. While living in San Diego, Pat was employed at the credit union on the military base as a bank teller and was employed at A & R Freight in Colorado working in their office as a clerk. When the family moved to Rhinelander, Pat was employed at McDonald's and later at Goodwill.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter Victoria Gina Dutton of Rhinelander, two grandchildren Michaela Mack of Rhinelander and Destiny Mack of Rhinelander, four great-grandchildren: Nevaeh Schneider, Noa Schneider, Lilliana Schneider and Anthony Webie and by one sister, Barbara McGuire of Oklahoma. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles Dutton, a daughter, Merry Noel Mack, and by three brothers and three sisters.
Military honors will take place on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Rhinelander V.F.W. Hall located at 120 E. Park Street, Rhinelander. Honors will be conducted by the Ray Rousseau VFW Post 3143 and two representatives from the U.S. Army. A Celebration of Pat's Life will immediately follow at the VFW Hall.
