Rhinelander High School on Tuesday celebrated three of its student-athletes who have officially declared their intentions to play at the collegiate level.

Pictured from left to right, Jacksen Smith, Malia Francis and Joe Schneider signed their letters of intent during Tuesday's ceremony in front of family, coaches and classmates. Francis signed to swim at NCAA Division-I Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. Smith signed to play men's basketball at Division III UW-Superior and Joe Schneider signed to play baseball at Division III UW-Stevens Point.

"It's a great day today for all the athletes at Rhinelander," RHS activities director Brian Paulson said. "These three athletes couldn't have been here without you guys, your support and your help as parents, coaches, as teammates and athletes. You pushed them, and they pushed themselves to an extra level and that's why they're here today. I'm extremely proud off all three of you."

Read more about all the future plans for all three in an upcoming edition of the River News.
