Amy graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1999 then joined the United States Army and was stationed in Hawaii. After serving four years she worked as a government contract worker in Mosul, Iraq and also served in the Army National Guard.
She is survived by her close friend, Charles Parnell of Milwaukee; mother, Lisa Beckley (Dave Sanderson); father, Larry Beckley; and her sisters Maggie (Bud) Schmidt and Lindsey (Kristopher) Kennedy, all of Rhinelander. Amy had no children of her own which made her love for her nieces and nephews, Lisa, Carly, Josie, Mikhail and Joseph, so much more special. She is further survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Amy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Doris Beckley; maternal grandparents, Robert and Arlene Nelson; Uncle "Bob" Robert Nelson; and Aunt Joan Nelson.
We want Amy to be remembered for more than her struggles, she was our daughter, little sister and loving aunt. Amy was proud to serve her country and to be a veteran. She had a love of classic rock music and a unique, infectious giggle.
Amy will be laid to rest at the Northwoods National Cemetery in Harshaw on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021 at 11 a.m.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the Disabled American Veterans Organization (dav.org) in Amy's name.
