Rhinelander DB Jackson Labs named to WFCA All-Star Game roster
Labs' seven interceptions were the most in the state among those who competed in the traditional fall season.
Rhinelander head coach Aaron Kraemer was previously selected to lead the North Large School team, and will have to opportunity to coach one of his own players in the event, which showcases the top senior high school football players in the state.
"I'm really really proud of what he's been able to do, to be around him and to be able to coach him in the WFCA game coming up and watch him compete with the rest of the best in the state, it's a testament to his hard work, his parents' support and what he wanted to do," Kraemer said.
Labs will be Rhinelander's first WFCA All-State game participant since Jacob Schmidt in 2007. Drake Martin was a late addition to last year's WFCA All-Star roster before the event was scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to Labs and Kraemer, the Hodag football team will be represented by father-and-son coaches Mike and Luke Roberts, who will assist Kraemer in coaching the North Large squad.
The WFCA's All-Star weekend takes place July 16 and 17 at UW-Oshkosh's Titan Stadium. The Large School All-Star Game will kick off at 6 p.m. July 17.
