Life Link III air ambulance operations out of its new base at the Rhinelander-Oneida County Airport began March 15, 2021, according to Katie Burkhart, director of marketing and communications. The base currently has 17 employees with one helicopter on standby 24-hours a day. Each crew consists of a pilot, flight nurse and flight paramedic, and the base can call on other assets such as fixed wing aircraft from one of the company's nine other bases in Minnesota and northern Wisconsin.
