Ronald "Bull" Olson
Ron attended schools in Rhinelander graduating from the Rhinelander High School in 1966. After his schooling he served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Rhinelander. He married the love of his life Margaret Schinke on Aug. 24, 1968 in Bundy at the Our Saviors Lutheran Church. God blessed them with over 45 years of marriage. Margaret preceded Ron in death on Feb. 22, 2014,
For the majority of Ron's life he was employed as a truck driver. He rarely left the State of Wisconsin which allowed him to be home with his family most nights. He retired from trucking in 2006.
Ron had many interests that included fishing, hunting, playing all kinds of cards, especially cribbage, and all sports. He served as an umpire in many different softball leagues. They included the slowpitch tournament, the girls league and the Snowshoe league in Lake Tomahawk. You always looked forward to seeing and talking with "Ronny" and you could be sure he always had a joke for you.
He was a longtime member of the Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bundy.
Ron is survived by his daughters Colleen Thompson and Ronda ( Zachary) Crowell, his son Jerrod (Michelle) Olson, eight grandchildren, 13 great0grandchildren, his sister Joy (Jeff) Schisel, his brothers Wayne (Karen) Olson and Mitch (Dawn) Olson, nieces, nephews, other family and many special friends. In addition to his wife, Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Paul and Bruce Olson.
Visitation for Ron will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Carlson Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at noon on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bundy with Reverend Al Montgomery officiating.
