Ten Rhinelander students competed against 27 other schools in northern and central Wisconsin at the regional level, according to a School District of Rhinelander press release.
"Students could choose various types of events to compete in virtually, such as taking a test on related business topics including business calculations, accounting or personal finance," the release states. "Students could also record a presentation or speech for events that were sent virtually to judges, such as desktop publishing or public speaking."
The top three competitors in each event qualified for the statewide competition; six members will go from Rhinelander. Four came home with a first place medal: Brynlei Kuhn (Accounting 1), Makenzie Denny (Computer Applications), Gwyn Lowry (Agribusiness) and Lilli Bishop (Personal Finance).
One member of Rhinelander FBLA, Joseph McGeschick (Health Care Administration) took second place in his event and will also be competing at state. Also qualifying for state by taking third place was Abbey Henrichs (Networking Infrastructure).
The team of Kaylee Brown and Ashleigh Hull (Hospitality & Event Management), who took fourth, and Diego Duarte (Economics) who took fifth, were also recognized in the virtual awards ceremony.
Rhinelander placed first for the outstanding community service award. For more information about FBLA competition, email chapter advisor Mishcell Fryar at [email protected].
