Lee was born on March 18, 1950, in Rhinelander, to Joseph and Edna Mae Anderle. He was a 1969 graduate of Rhinelander High School and always proud to be a Hodag. During his high school years, he loved to play, and mastered the art of shooting billiards at The Cue Club, fondly known by many as "Herbie".
After high school, he enlisted in the Army, and served as an MP, in the 101st Airborne Division. After his military service he enrolled in the law enforcement academy, and served as a California Highway Patrol Officer, until his retirement a few year ago. After that he did some private investigator and guard duty work.
He loved to RV, fish with his law enforcement buddies in the mountains, golf, follow the Packers, and spend time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Darlene (Martinez) Anderle, of 44 years, brother Fred, and sister Linda.
He is survived by siblings Bob (Judy), and Jay (Jodie) of Rhinelander, Harry (Suzy) of Woodruff, Ginger (Pat) of Sun Prairie, Vonda (Mike) Frohman of Montana; his children, Justin and Mara and stepchildren Mary, Kenny, Anthony and Nancy, of California; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Also his partner Florence in California.
Lee was a strong person of honor and integrity, strong in his friendships and relationships, always a ready smile and hand to reach out to help people.
