Griebenow is a long time supporter of the little theater. When asked why he felt compelled to contribute he replied, "Why? There are very few small communities that have an arts center like we have. And there are fewer yet that don't have some amount of financial concerns. I've always been an arts guy as the son of a music teacher. I know the value of the arts in our individual lives, as well as in the life of the community. I could think of no more deserving group to help raise funds for than the TLCFA."
Griebenow is a doctor of Optometry who had a 38 year practice in New London and Clintonville and is still a part time provider. He and his wife Marian moved to Three Lakes in 2017 and are active in community and civic organizations. He is also a freelance correspondent and photographer for the Vilas Co. News Review.
The TLCFA has recently put on a new roof but still has many challenges from the 1946 building. In addition to painting and window replacement, there is the long time need for a dressing room/green room for the performers, as well as help for musician's overnight accommodations, and better sound and video equipment as the theater moves forward with concert streaming. Griebenow added, "I have no particular thoughts on how you should use the funds. I would say, use your best judgment."
