The Hodags went 2-1 in pool play, defeating Eau Claire Elite (3-2) and Marshfield (2-0) before falling to Somerset (0-1). Rhinelander then lost to Toon Rapids United 0-2 in the championship game.
"We got put in the top category. They moved up into the select category for the 17U," coach Nathan Bates said.
The squad is comprised of players who are slated to be part of the Rhinelander High School boys' soccer team this fall and was coached by Bates, Adam Wiese and John Weigel. Team members include Tucker Frederickson, Will Gretzinger, Charlie Heck, Andrew Henrichs, Beau Howard, Alexx Huff, Matthew King, Leo Losch, Braden Mark, Gavin Ostermann, Shane Patrick, Will Quinn, Michael Schiek, Mason Shinners, Neil Weigle, Kyle Wiese and Garrett Younker.
