She will always be remembered for her lifetime love of music. She was a huge Beatles fan. Mary Lee wrote music, sang, and played a variety of instruments for over 50 years and celebrated with a special half century performance at Nicolet College. Some bands she played with, going all the way back to high school, include The Sands of Time, Slim Pickins, Canyon Fire, The Usual Suspects, and Larry, Paul, and Mary. Some of her most memorable performances were at the Hodag Fest grounds. Notably her band performed during a concert weekend with Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson.
Mary Lee was deeply spiritual and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rhinelander for many years. She enjoyed singing with her friends there and will be truly missed. In recent years her passion for helping those with mental illness was a great source of pride. She worked closely with the local NAMI organization. NAMI was intensely important to her and she touched the lives of so many people during her years with the Oneida County chapter.
Mary Lee is survived by her sons Kristopher (Jennifer) Kuczmarski and Kyle (Megan) Kuczmarski, and brother Laurence (Incha) Wiesneske. She was preceded in death by her parents Laurence and Mildred (Brunell) Wiesneske, and loving husband Herbert Cox.
