Hodag fest returns!

Country music fans gathered in the Town of Pine Lake early this week in anticipation of the return of the Hodag Country Festival. The event was canceled last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was missed by many. Organizers implemented a new chair line procedure this year and that ritual was completed Wednesday, July 7, 2021. The rainy weather Wednesday made the grass very slick, so participants were reminded to not run to place their chairs. People wanting to place a lawn chair were assigned to one of four groups and starting at 11 a.m. the first group was allowed to place their chairs in front of the main stage. The remaining three groups went every two hours after that. Main stage entertainment began Thursday evening with Travis Tritt scheduled to headline the night. Also scheduled to perform during the four-day event are Darius Rucker, Trace Adkins, Wisconsin's own Chris Kroeze and, of course, Neal McCoy. See the Tuesday, July 13 edition of the River News for coverage of the weekend entertainment.
