John "Jack" Palubicki, 83, of Crandon, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021.

Jack was born May 23, 1937, in the Township of Schoepke, the son of the late John and Germain-(Habersaat) Palubicki.

As a young boy, Jack worked in the woods around Jennings till he left to go to Kenosha where he worked at American Brass Company for years, raising his family. His love for the outdoors and Crandon would relocate him back where he worked at Daniels Packaging (Printpack) in Rhinelander, then working his own logging business and logging for others till his retirement.

He was married to Patricia (Shorey) for 61 years. Jack enjoyed joking with his acquaintances. Jack had a friendly smile and will be remembered for his genuine kindness. Jack enjoyed spending time with his kids and watching them grow up. He loved to deer hunt and fish. Jack was a very hard worker. He was working before the sunrise and after sunset. He had a handshake on him, like shaking a bear's paw. He much loved working to create his homestead and mainly his yard with wife Pat.

More than anything, Jack loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He could get the crabbiest baby to laugh and smile, bouncing them on his knee with his own recital of gitty-up. He loved to follow his grandchildren in sports and school activities. Josh and Craig Kircher in little league and wrestling, Timmy Palubicki in football and snowmobile racing and Claire Palubicki in dance. His best friend and fishing partner was Greg Eldred.

Jack is survived by wife Patricia; son, Todd Palubicki; daughter, Kimberly (Dave) Kircher and son, Jackie (Shelley) Palubicki; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, too many to mention from the huge Palubicki family; brother, George (Mary Ann) Palubicki, and sisters, Mary Jane Flannery and Rosalie Dunn.

Jack was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond, Roy, Bernard, August, Robert, and sister, Clara Mae Flannery; brothers-in-law, Buddy Dunn, Kenny Flannery, Carl Flannery; sisters-in-law, Betty Palubicki, Jean Palubicki, Mary Palubicki, Karen Barker; and in-laws, Jeanette Shorey/McMillion, Harold Shorey and stepfather, George McMillion.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

We want to thank Ascension Hospice for their loving care toward Jack.
