Northwoods Community Elementary School celebrated the 100th day of school on February 11. The students participated in a variety of math and reading activities throughout the day. The kindergarten and first-grade students made necklaces that contained 100 Fruit Loops. The students counted by 10s to prove that their necklaces contained 100 pieces. Using rubber stamps, the students stamped 100 items. The youngsters also located specific numbers on a 100 chart and played Roll to 100. Students also kicked, clapped, and hopped 100 items. Finally, the students wrote about what they would purchase with $100. The second graders worked on a 100 Days of School poster. Within the poster, the students created a monster that contained 10 eyes, ears, hairs, arms, legs, hands, feet, teeth, spikes and spots. The third graders participated in an aging booth. After a picture was taken of each student, they were able to see what they would look like in 100 years. Then the students wrote a schedule of what their day may look like in 100 years. Many students, including those pictured above, dressed up as a 100-year-old person and created a shirt that contained 100 items on it.
