On Nov. 17, 1973, in Wooster, Ohio, Charles married the loved of his life, the former Susan Kirby. They were blessed with 47 years of marriage. They moved to the Harshaw area in 1982 and have lived there since. It was a perfect place for Charles to live because it was so close to his other love(s), his golf game and the Pinewood Country Club. He loved to golf and he loved to play at Pinewood. Charles was also an avid reader. He would read anything and any topic and enjoy it.
Charles was proud of his service with the Marines and he was a member of the Colin F Schulz American Legion Post 0318 of Lake Tomahawk for well over 20 years.
Charles loved his family and always looked forward to being with them and his many friends. He looked forward to when his friends would come over to "visit with his cooler" on the deck.
Charles is survived by his wife Susan, his son Erick (Nicole) Wellnitz, his sister Lyla (John) Zuerlein, nieces, nephews, other family and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother David.
