After his schooling David worked as a machinist in Chicago. In 1991 he moved to Rhinelander and went to work for Lakeshore Manufacturing and then HyPro. At the time of his death he was employed as a supervisor at HyPro.
While at Lakeshore he met his future wife Renee. They were married on June 24, 2005 and were blessed with 16 wonderful years together.
Outside of his work, David had many interests. He loved all sports, especially the Blackhawks and Bears. He loved to golf and listen to music, especially Motown. He also liked to play cards and ice fish. His true joy came from doing any of these things when they involved his wife, kids and grandkids.
David is survived by his wife Renee, his three sons Dennis Barlog, Daniel (Georgia) Barlog and Morgan Shepherd, his daughter April Murphy, his 10 grandchildren, his daughter-in-law Heather Barlog, his sister Barbara Rosi, his three brothers William (Debbie) Barlog, James (Mary) Barlog and Donald Barlog, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son David Jr.
Visitation for David will be held on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021 from 10 to 11 a.m. with memorial services following at 11 a.m., all at the Carlson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in David's name and any gifts may be directed to his family. You may leave your private condolences for the family at www.carlsonfh.com.
