"At Trig's, we understand that being a good neighbor means giving back to the communities we serve," said Brad Brayshaw, senior director of operations for Trig's. "We are proud to partner with Smithfield Foods to deliver this protein donation that will serve our communities in Rhinelander, Arbor Vitae, Minocqua, Woodruff, Eagle River, Tomahawk and others throughout our service areas."
"We can't thank Smithfield and Trig's enough for this incredible protein donation, which is a vital resource for our clients," said Patti Habeck, president and CEO of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. "This donation will allow us to distribute more than 150,000 servings of protein to members of our community, which is a tremendous contribution as we enter the holiday season."
"Smithfield is honored to celebrate Trig's 50th anniversary by partnering on this protein donation," said Jonathan Toms, community development manager for Smithfield Foods. "As a food company, we are committed to making a difference in the fight against hunger, which we could not do without the support of partners like Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin and Trig's."
Established in 1982, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is the leading hunger-relief organization in the state of Wisconsin with a network of 400 pantries and meal programs serving 35 counties. The first Trig's Grocery was founded by Trygve and Tula Solberg in 1971 in Land O' Lakes and has grown to become an organization of approximately 1,000 employees serving six communities in the Northwoods.
