The Rhinelander High School girls' swim team rallied to support one of its families Dec. 3, holding a chuck-a-duck contest during intermission of the Hodag boys' swim team's meet against Tomahawk at the Heck Family Community Pool.

According to coach Jenny Heck, the contest raised $424 went to support the Lambert family, whose patriarch, Thomas, passed away Nov. 30 at the age of 57. Two of Lambert's daughters are part of the Rhinelander swim program. Margaret is a member of the RHS girls' swim team while Gracie swims for the Rhinelander Swim Club.

"The Lambert family has been going through such a hard time and they've been such great supporters of Rhinelander Swim Club and Rhinelander High School teams," Heck said. "We just really feel for their family and anything we can do to help, I know the community has been of great support and showed it that night."
