Workers from Finishing Touch Signs of Wausau have started replacing the old signs with the new ones denoting the former Ascension St. Mary's Hospital is now Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital. Aspirus Health announced in January that it had signed an agreement with Ascension Medical Group to take ownership of seven hospitals, including St. Mary's in Rhinelander and Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff. The other five hospitals are Eagle River Hospital in Eagle River, Good Samaritan Hospital in Merrill, Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley, Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk and St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point. Aspirus took ownership on August 1, and the name change became official December 1.
