Gloria was born in Rhinelander on March 21, 1949 to Howard and Madeline (Alsteen) Miller. For a few years the family lived in Milwaukee and then moved back to the Rhinelander area where she attended school. Gloria was united in marriage to Orville A. Turgeon Jr. on June 8, 1968 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rhinelander. She was employed as a Home Health Aid at the Oneida County Courthouse and at St. Mary's Hospital, retiring in 2007.
Gloria was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church.
In her free time you could find Gloria playing Bingo at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Rhinelander or Tomahawk V.F.W. Gloria loved traveling with Orville to the casinos. Gloria also enjoyed traveling to the U.P. of Michigan, Las Vegas or to California.
But most of all, NaNa adored her grandchildren and took great pride in their accomplishments.
She will be forever remembered as everyone's "Mom" and for being a caring, loving, patient lady.
She will be dearly missed by her children: Scott Turgeon of Rhinelander, Paula (Eric) Hasseler of Temecula, Calif. and Melissa (Russell) Loka of Rhinelander; five grandchildren: Zoe (Taylor) Tomaszewski, Bradley McDonald, Amber Hasseler, Adam Hasseler and Addisyn Loka; siblings Howard (Terry) Miller, Rick Alsteen, Cheri (Richard) Granger and Robert (Dar) Minder. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Howard Miller and Madeline (Robert) Minder and husband, Orville A. "Junior" Turgeon in 2009.
A private graveside service for Gloria will be held in the summer of 2022.
