Christian J. Farris, 27, of Rhinelander, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Aug. 20, 2021.

Christian was born on Oct. 14, 1993, in Rhinelander, to Gary "Chris" and LeeAnn (Edwards) Farris. He was raised in Rhinelander and attended Rhinelander schools.

Christian enjoyed playing the guitar, piano, ukulele and was self-taught. He enjoyed many genres of music with folk, indie pop, and Hawaiian being some of his favorites.

He was very athletic and had an adventurous spirit, leading him to enjoy skateboarding and BMX biking. He loved the outdoors which included, hiking, nature, camping and enjoying the simple things in life.

He will be remembered for his smile, lighting up a room when he entered it and his special walk. But most of all Farris will be remembered for the love he gave to his daughters.

He will be dearly missed by his parents: Gary "Chris" Farris (Barb Shovick) of Rhinelander, LeeAnn Grys of Rhinelander; his daughters: Stevie Farris and Josephine Schlecht-Farris; brothers: Zachariah (Diana) Farris of Woodruff, Joshua (Candis) Steinmetz of Rhinelander, Cameron Farris of Wisconsin Rapids; sisters: Cassandra Grys of Green Bay, Samantha Grys of Minneapolis, Christina Catherine (Ethan) Steinberg of Rhinelander; maternal grandparents Don (Clara) Williams of Lincoln, Nebraska, paternal grandma Phyllis J. Curtis of Morristown, Ariz., aunts: Paula (Ed) McConnell, Jamie (Gary Lee) Kasper, Gail (Skip) Smith, Linda (Todd) Papke and Andrea (Ron) Debus; uncles: Brent (Janelle) Williams, Bub (Patty) Edwards; stepfather, Stan Grys and stepmother, Kim Bouffiou.

Forever loved by Maddy Carlson of Rhinelander, Anna Detienne of Rhinelander and Jessica Ann Schlecht-Harmeling of Green Bay. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many friends.

Christian is preceded in death by his paternal grandpa Gerald Farris of Washington, Iowa and great-grandparents Clyde and Pauline Simonsen of Springville, Iowa.

The visitation for Christian will take place on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021 at the St. Germain Evangelical Free Church, located at 6065 Highway 70 E. St. Germain, Wisconsin from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service with Pastor Josh Reese officiating.

Immediately following the service there will be a reception in the Fellowship Hall at the church.
