Del passed peacefully to a new life at Seasons of Life Hospice House in Woodruff.
Del was born in Wausau to William J. and Eunice L. (Millard) Bramm, the fourth of five children. He graduated from Wausau East High School before joining the Air Force in 1952. He served his country proudly as a Staff Sergeant with the 51st Fighter Interceptor Wing K-13, Suwon AB South Korea, 1953-1954. It was while in the military that he met the love of his life, Fran. They were married in 1954 and settled in Rhinelander.
He was a volunteer for the Town of Pelican's Fire Department, an active leader of Boy Scout Troop 560, a member of St. Mary's Knights of Columbus, and served on the RCC School Board.
Del worked for Frasier Plumbing and Rasmussen Plumbing before going out on his own and starting Del Bramm Plumbing and Heating in 1972. It became a family business, employing his three sons, grandson and other family members, including long term employees who became part of the family, before retiring at the age of 82. Del was a hard working man who also truly enjoyed life to its fullest. He did everything with a joke and a smile. When he wasn't working, you could find him relaxing out at Lake George hosting a picnic, pontooning, or watching sunsets with Fran on the dock.
Above all else, Del loved and lived for his family. He was a hunter and a fisherman, spending countless hours with sons and grandchildren doing both. He was an avid and excellent woodworker, creating beautiful Intarsia pieces and other heirloom wood pieces for his family that they will treasure forever. His creativity shined brightly at Christmastime. His lights display being known throughout the community as "the house to see." He was a gifted musician who could play many instruments including the guitar and accordion. He was the original "Tim the Tool Man," taking things apart and putting them back together better than they were and with a lot more power.
Del was loved and will be greatly missed by the surviving family, his wife; Fran, his love of 66 years, daughters; Jackie, of Colorado, Julie (Mike) of Lake Tomahawk, sons; Steve (Pam), Tim (Claudia), Rob (Kelly) of Rhinelander, grandchildren, Adam, Ben, Angie, Sean, Katie, Alex, Ashley, David, Hope, Laura, Ryan and Alyssa, great-grandchildren; Claira, Amber, Gavin, Eleanore, Addie, Dawson, Alexa, Mae, Briar, Grayson and Willow, sister; Lois, of Rothschild, sister-in-law; Alvina of Neenah, and many nieces and nephews.
