After a couple of years in Minnesota, Elaine moved to the Milwaukee area as a young child where she attended schools. After her schooling she met and then married John Loduha. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1969. They lived in Milwaukee for about 10 years and then moved to Rhinelander in the mid 1950s. She has lived here since.
Elaine and her husband John owned and operated the North Side Tap on Eagle Street for 17 years before selling the business to their son John. During this time she also worked in the potato fields in Starks and for Frito Lay for over 25 years. As you can tell she was not afraid to work hard.
Elaine enjoyed many other interests outside of her work. She loved to crochet, go camping, fishing, baking and canning. She looked forward to her regular lunch and then cards with her friends. Above all else came her family. She was fortunate to have the company of her special friend, Pete Rolain, for many years after being widowed at an early age.
Elaine is survived by her daughter Jo Ann Winquist, her granddaughter Kim, great-granddaughters Nicole and Jessica, her great-great-grandchildren Morgan, Maxwell, Marcus and Brody; nieces, nephews, her special friend and partner for many years, Pete Rolain, other family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband John on May 9, 1969, her son John, her grandson Keith Winquist, three sisters and a brother.
Elaine will be laid to rest with her husband John in the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Cemetery. There will be a memorial gathering for her at a later date when restrictions of the pandemic lessen. A notice will follow with those times.
